"Celebrate Canada Day - Kelowna" is our annual, free community festival held in Waterfront Park, Jim Stuart Park and Kerry Park, as well as Prospera Place for residents and visitors to celebrate our nation's birthday. There are over 50+ activities and performances that are multi-generational and family-friendly, sure to entertain festival goers all day long. Over 60,000 people have attended these celebrations each year. This year watch for some special NEW activities in honour of Canada's Sesquicentennial year!

This year's local celebration is produced as a community partnership between Festivals Kelowna, Folkfest, and our many activity partners, bringing the community a huge number of activities for all ages and abilities to enjoy.

Prospera Place will feature:

  • Official Celebrate Canada Day Ceremonies, including a "Happy Birthday Canada" cake presented by Coldwell Banker Horizon Realty (cake service approx 1:00 pm)
  • 44th Annual Kelowna Folkfest Celebrations - presenting Canada's cultural mosaic through culinary experiences and live performances
  • A special evening performance - watch here for details to come!

Waterfront Park will feature the 20th annual "Celebrate Canada Day-Kelowna" including:

  • Taste of Canada - a food fair featuring over 18 different vendors
  • Made in Canada Marketplace - an artisan showcase of handmade, Canadian arts and crafts
  • Canada Day Bazaar - a marketplace of unique items by local small businesses
  • Community Groups Display - information displays by local community associations
  • NEW - OPUS Great Canadian Colour'in - a giant mural to colour with your family and friends

Additional activities include:

  • Parks Alive! Power Stage supported by Power 104 FM (Island Stage), 12:30 - 9:30 pm
  • TD Beach Stage supported by K96.3 FM (Tugboat Bay beach), 12:00 - 10:15 pm
  • Kiwanis Kid Stage supported by Country 100.7 (Pioneer Gardens), 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
  • NEW - Pacific Coastal Street Stage (Water Street near Dolphins fountain) 1:00 - 3:30 pm
  • Coast Capital Savings Youth Stage supported by 99.9 SUN FM (Jim Stuart Park), 6:00 - 10:15 pm
  • NEW - Our Coffeehouse Entertainment Stage (Kerry Park), 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
  • Folk Fest stage (Prospera Place) 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
  • Coast Capital Savings Fireworks, presented by the City of Kelowna and Tolko, 10:15 pm

Although admission to the festival is free, donations are greatly appreciated and help support the costs of this celebration. Volunteers with donation bins will be located at the entrances to Waterfront Park and at the entertainment stages.

Your donations help keep the Canada Day Celebrations free and accessible to all.

Interested in performing on one of the 5 stages?
We feature a variety of artists on our stages in a diversity of styles, from Rock to Country, Folk to Jazz, Reggae to Celtic, and all genres in between! If you want to be considered for performing, please submit an Interested Performer application. Please remember that we only have so many spots on our stages, so not everyone that applies will get a booking. However, we need performers for the other events we produce and if you don't object, we'll use your application to fill those stages as well.

Made in Canada Marketplace Applications
Celebrate Canada Day - Kelowna invites applications for interested artisans and crafters for our "Made in Canada Marketplace" each year. The "Marketplace" is intended to showcase the artwork of Canadian artisans and their handmade, Canadian artwork. Note: If you were approved at last year's event and are not planning to sell new products, simply apply and indicate this on your form. If you are new, your artwork will need to be approved for the Marketplace. Download the application here

Canada Day Bazaar

Are you a small or home-based business, looking for a way to showcase and sell your product in a fun environment?  The well received  "Canada Day Bazaar" provides space for small, retail and commercial businesses at a reasonable price to showcase their products to over 60,000 people at the festival. Community Group Showcase

Local, non-profit associations are welcome to set-up a display booth in Waterfront Park in our "Community Area". where they will have the opportunity to share information to over 60,000 patrons about the important role their non-profit group plays in our community, making it a better place to live. A nominal participation fee is charged as a donation towards the festival. Download the application here.

Taste of Canada (food vendor)

Applications for interested food and beverage vendors for our Taste of Canada Marketplace are accepted annually. There are a limited number of spaces available, and are allocated based on such factors as creating a diverse mix of food products for the festival and application deadlines. Kids Zone

Do you have an activity that children would enjoy participating in? Face painting, hula hooping, hockey shoot, balloon drop, parachute play, arts & crafts, storytelling - these are just some of the fun and interactive stations that groups have presented at Canada Day. We welcome groups and organizations to set up an interactive display for free, and in return are able to share information about their product or service to the community.
